Finance Committee
The Finance Committee meets on a regular basis to prepare and monitor the parish budget.
Members of this committee are responsible for agreeing all parish financial contracts and major expenses, and recommending any necessary financial actions to the Parish Pastoral Council.
Gift Aid
We are grateful for the generosity of parishioners who contirubute to our weekly offertory collection. Those who wish to make their contribution by standing order are welcome to do so - please contact the Parish Office for further details.
We urge tax payers to join our Gift Aid Scheme; this enables us to claim 22p from the Inland Revenue for every £1 donated, at no added cost to the donor. If you would like to join the scheme, or have any enquiries about it, please contact our Gift Aid organiser, Tracy O'Sullivan via tha parish office.
Christmas Bazaar & Garden Fete
The Parish Christmas Bazaar takes place every year on a Saturday in November, in the Parish Hall & Parish Centre. There is also a Parish Garden Fete in the presbytery garden, on a Saturday early in the summer. We welcome items for stalls and as prizes for these events. Details are published in the parish newsletter, including the dates and times of planning meetings.
Bingo
A small group of people meet to play Bingo on Thursday evenings, 8-9.30pm in the Parish Centre.
Social Committee
The Social Committee meets regularly to discuss and plan the many parish social and fund-raising events.
Holy Cross Parish Hall & Centre
On the first Friday evening of each month, the Parish Centre bar is open, and there is a Family Quiz which begins at 9pm. The Parish Hall and Centre are regularly used for parish social functions. The hall may also be booked for private functions. For more information contact the Parish Office on either Monday, Tuesday or Friday afternoons, between 1.30pm and 4.00pm only.
Holy Cross 100 Club
The 100 Club provides a useful contribution toward parish funds. Subscriptions are due at the beginning of June each year. We encourage members to pay for the whole year, at a cost of £50, although some participants choose to pay monthly in advance, at a cost of £1 per week. From the weekly draw, there are two prizes: the first of £40, the second of £10. Of the total income, half is paid in prize money, half is income for the parish. If you are interested in jjoining the 100 Club, please contact the parish office.
